Worry less

Hike more

We started off as a group of three, one bailed out along the way, and at some point, I was the only one left. Today, even we are having trouble keeping track of the actual Chios Hiking members.

Still, one thing remains unchanged: our love for mountains, rural landscape and trails. We cherish fog, rubble walls, the stories grandpas like to relate in traditional coffee shops and the smell of steaming hot bread that has just come out of the brick oven.

Hiking is more than just some outdoor exercising, or a great way to connect with a place; it also provides us with the time and space needed so that we can relax, contemplate as well as reunite with both the nature and ourselves.

TESTIMONIALS

I would go back to Chios to hike together mount Aepos, a mountain that speaks for itself and is a part of the history of the island.

Your conduct, as well as your love and knowledge of the place made us feel welcome and at home. You revealed the island to us, calmly and without conceit.

This hike was very beautiful, with alternating landscapes, from the prairies to the rocky slopes of Pelinneo.

It was a difficult trail but I will remember the scent of the herbs, the views and the constant changes of scenery.

We climbed on the two peaks of Pelinneo. It was a tough trail but the locals’ company made us forget all weariness.
