This route stands out as the most rewarding in hiking terms within the “network of stone craftsmen’s trails”, compared to the Karfas – Thymiana and Megas Limnionas – Thymiana routes. Set within a landscape of warm, earthy tones, it offers the walker the opportunity to experience the place where the tradition of quarrying and carving the distinctive Thymiana stone developed and continues to this day.

The route begins at the small harbour of Agia Ermioni. From there, it ascends gradually through cultivated land with olive trees, prickly pears and mastic trees, initially following paved roads and then dirt tracks. The landscape remains open, with gentle slopes and scattered agricultural activity.

Further on, the route becomes more engaging, making use of stone-built passages and footpaths with visible traces of carving, descending towards Megas Limnionas. It then climbs to the hill of Profitis Ilias and continues towards Agios Dimitrios “Ktistadon”, mainly following the existing road network of the area and passing near modern quarrying activity.

The final section is also the most enjoyable, as the route begins its return to Agia Ermioni along a well-preserved path. It winds between dry-stone walls built from Thymiana stone, with open views to the sea and the subtle presence of mastic accompanying the walker all the way to the end.
