Four walking trails for everyone! Suitable for novice hikers, families with children, or those who just want to take a leisurely stroll in nature without the worry of losing the path. Four routes, one in the south, two in the central, and one in the northern part of Chios, all with a low level of difficulty and interesting features.
The historical routes from Kritikou Lakos to Agios Isidoros Pitios and from the Fa valley to Lithi village stretch along well-preserved stone-built paths, constructed in the late Ottoman era, impressing with their architectural features. The ascent trail to Prophet Elias’ hill in Komi, with its magnificent view, and the riverside trail from Kleidou to Mesa Kleidou, complete the quartet of routes.
The presentations of these trails, similar to those preceding route networks of stonemasons of Thimiana stone and the monks of Nea Moni, provide concise information and a few illustrative photos. The purpose of these presentations is not a detailed, step-by-step description but rather to highlight them, making them more familiar to locals and visitors of Chios.
The informational material is also available in Greek here. We hope you find it useful and come to love these easy trails. Enjoy your walks, both young and old!
